Turkish coffee is all about relaxing, taking a much deserved break, visiting with old friends and making new ones. A Turkish proverb states: "A cup of coffee commits one to 40 years of friendship."
It is simple to make, but takes time and patience ....something we in the west (think of Keurig!) have little of. To make your own, you'll need an "ibrik" - at Cupper's we have brass ibriks with wooden handles, and the brass develops a lovely patina with use.
We have been told about many different ways of making traditional Turkish coffee - the following method seems to have the most consensus: Mix your coffee, cold water and sugar, stirred first then put over a low flame. When the mixture boils up, take it off the heat for a bit, then return it to heat for a second boil.
