The Felt Creature House Hippo Kit is designed for the confident beginner crafter, recommended for ages 12 and up. The elusive House Hippo has been one of the most desired creatures for Canadian kids since the early 1990’s. If you remember the very popular CBC commercial that mimicked ‘Hinterland’s Who’s Who’, you’ll remember wanting one. And now you can finally own your own house hippo. The Studio’s most popular kit has been upgraded to use a stronger wool blend felt, is 20% larger AND includes the materials to stitch some potato chips! Your final Sea Turtle measures 15 cm x 10 cm.

The Felt Creature House Hippo Kit was designed by the Rita Van Tassel Studio in Nova Scotia. Each kit envelope contains step-by-step photo illustrated instructions. They also include paper pattern pieces, sheets of wool blend felt, embroidery floss, a needle, and pins. The only thing you provide is the stuffing. The techniques are simple for all the designs, but some require more patience when assembling the smaller parts. Each is marked for the degree of difficulty.
