What is Coffee Concentrate?
Coffee concentrate is real coffee, cold-brewed for maximum flavour and strength.
First we fresh roast ethical-sourced, 100% Arabica beans at our Lethbridge roastery. Next we grind the coffee, then cold steep it in fresh, icy water for creamy smoothness. The cold brewing ensures we extract as much deep, rich flavour as possible.
The final result is a smooth, rich and intense flavoured liquid coffee base. With low acidity, it’s easy on your stomach and your palate. It comes in a convenient 1.5-liter standby pouch with an easy-pour tap. No additional work needed. Instead, dilute it and serve.
Traditional brewing methods extract coffee flavours from ground beans into a large volume of water. Concentrating the liquid reverses this math. We hold back the water during extraction to capture a dense, hyper-flavourful liquid. It packs all the aromatic profiles, body, and intensity of a standard cold brew into a fraction of the space.
Shelf stable when sealed so you’re always set. Just refrigerate after opening, and it stays fresh for weeks!
How to Use Coffee Concentrate: The 1:2 Ratio
Using coffee concentrate is simple. The secret is in the 1:2 dilution ratio. Use one part coffee concentrate to two parts liquid. Use either milk or water, hot or cold.
Our concentrate is a true cold brew immersion. As a result, it mixes without effort into both hot and cold liquids. No aggressive stirring or shaking to get a uniform drink.
Here’s how to make your favorite café drinks… in under 30 seconds!
Make a Hot Americano
Pour a 2 oz shot of concentrate into your favorite mug.

Create a refreshing drink that highlights the bright notes of our Arabica coffee beans. The citrus acidity pairs beautifully with the smooth body of the cold brewed concentrate.
Mixing coconut water with coffee creates a refreshing, hydrating drink. You get the double benefit of natural electrolytes plus a healthy energy boost.
Our packaging choice was deliberate. We wanted to avoid traditional glass bottles or rigid plastic structures. Instead we chose a flexible 1.5-liter standby pouch for three key reasons.
1. Our Pouch Stays Fresh
Our customized pouch features a specialized one-way pour tap. Air can’t get inside the pouch when you dispense your drink.
Oxygen is the ultimate enemy of many foods, including coffee. When you open traditional bottles, air rushes inside and speeds up oxidation. This turns the liquid stale and sour within minutes to hours. Instead of letting in air, our bag collapses as you use your coffee concentrate. The remaining concentrate stays fresh and sweet down to the very last drop.
2. Our Pouch is Eco-Friendly
We’re staying in line with our commitment to Keeping it Green. The flexible 1.5L pouch has a much lower carbon footprint than other methods in three ways:
Weight Reduction: Less weight means less energy consumed during production. Empty pouches need much less raw material to manufacture. Compared to the weight of thick glass jars and metal or plastic lids, this adds up.
Shipping Efficiency: Empty pouches flatten completely. A delivery truck can carry thousands of flattened pouches in a single trip. Moving the same number of empty glass bottles would require many semi-truck loads. This lower freight need is significant in reducing emissions.
Pod Alternative: Our pouches are recyclable, unlike pods. Using one pouch creates less landfill waste than many individual plastic coffee pods.
3. Our Pouch is Completely Versatile
One of our favourite points is the huge range of usable options with our pouches. Because it is not pre-sweetened, you have complete control over the flavour profile. Use our coffee concentrate for morning fuel. Take it on your weekend camping trips. Or bring it to your children’s or grandkids’ sporting events. We’d love to see where you’re going with them! #Cupperscoffee
Culinary Uses: Cooking with Coffee Concentrate
Think big, and don’t limit your pouch to beverage glasses. Coffee Concentrate functions as a powerful, flavour-dense ingredient in the kitchen. Traditional recipes often call for instant espresso powder dissolved in water. Liquid concentrate provides a smooth, deep profile without any grainy texture.
It’s perfect for a rich baking ingredient in coffee cakes, cookies, and tiramisu. Add to chili, meat marinades or a barbeque sauce for extra richness and depth.
Baking and Desserts
The Ultimate Tiramisu: Dip your ladyfinger cookies into undiluted Coffee Concentrate. The low acidity ensures your dessert tastes rich and chocolatey, never harsh or sour.
Moist Chocolate Cakes: Replace the water or milk in your favorite chocolate cake recipe. Use a 1:1 mix of concentrate and water. Coffee deepens the natural flavour of cocoa powder, making the cake taste twice as rich.
Cold Brew Glaze: Whisk 1 tablespoon of undiluted concentrate with 1 cup of icing sugar. You’ve created a glossy glaze for donuts, scones, coffee cake, or cinnamon buns.
Savory Dishes and Barbecue
Coffee BBQ Sauce – Start with 4 oz of concentrate. Add ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika, and simmer. The cold brew notes add a complex, smoky depth to grilled meats.
Steak Rub Hydration: Mix a splash of concentrate into your dry garlic and pepper rubs. This helps the spices adhere to your steaks or brisket before smoking.
The Economics of Concentrate: Save Time and Money
High-quality coffee should not break your budget. Compare what you get with Coffee Concentrate versus café drinks or single-serve pods. When you calculate the cost per ounce, a 1.5L pouch of Coffee Concentrate adds up to great savings!
Time Savings
The average drive-thru line takes ten minutes out of your morning schedule. Brewing a fresh pot at home takes five to eight minutes. With concentrate, your prep time drops to less than a minute. It’s easy – pour, dilute, and walk out the door.
Equipment Cost Reduction
Love gourmet iced lattes? Now you don’t need home espresso machines, high-end grinders, or specialized scales. We’ve done the coffee prep work for you. Your equipment list drops to a single glass and a spoon.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cupper's Coffee Concentrate need to be refrigerated?
Yes, but only after opening. Keep your pouch in the fridge after removing the tap’s seal. This preserves the bright, fresh flavour of the Arabica coffee beans. Thanks to our airtight one-way tap, an opened pouch stays completely fresh in your refrigerator up to 4 to 6 weeks.
How is Coffee Concentrate made?
This is not standard iced coffee – our concentrate is a true cold brew. We steep our coarse-ground, ethical-sourced beans in cold, filtered water. This results in a slow, 16-to-24-hour extraction. The gentle steeping process completely avoids hot water. This means the process leaves behind any bitter acids. As a result we highlight the natural sweet, silky, and chocolate notes of the roasted coffee.
How much caffeine is in a serving?
Because it is a cold brew concentrate, a little goes a long way. Our golden rule is a simple 1:2 dilution ratio. For a standard 6 oz serving, you will use 2 oz of coffee concentrate and 4 oz of your favorite mixer.
This 2 oz pour delivers a smooth, clean buzz. It gives you roughly the same caffeine boost as a strong cup of drip coffee or a double shot of espresso. But because it’s smoother, you enjoy your beverage without a jittery, acidic crash.
Can I use hot water with this coffee concentrate?
Yes. Many people worry that adding hot water to a cold brew concentrate will ruin the flavour. It does not. The cold extraction process doesn’t pull out bitter, heat-activated acids. Adding hot water only warms up the liquid. It creates a incredible smooth, low-acid hot Americano.
How many cups of coffee can I get out of one 1.5L pouch?
A 1.5-liter pouch contains roughly 50 ounces of liquid. Using our recommended 2 oz serving size per cup, one single pouch delivers 25 x 6 oz servings of premium coffee.
You can adjust to taste as well. You’ll get more if you dilute it more… or less if you drink it straight!
Can I freeze the pouch for long-term storage?
We don’t recommend freezing the pouch. It can alter the delicate flavour compounds and compromise the barrier film of the pouch. With a long refrigerator shelf-life, freezing is rarely necessary.
What makes your coffee beans "ethically sourced"?
We work in partnership with sustainable farming cooperatives and transparent importers. Our Direct Trade practices ensures farmers get fair, above-market wages for their crops. This supports local agricultural communities and encourages sustainable, eco-friendly farming practices.
Is this concentrate travel friendly?
Yes. The flexible standby pouch is very durable and spill-proof. It is an excellent option for camping trips, road trips, or office breakrooms. It packs flat as it empties, making it much easier and lighter to store in a cooler than bulky glass bottles.
Where can I buy Cupper's Coffee Concentrate?
Pick up the 1.5 L pouches from us at our Lethbridge local Cupper’s Coffee & Tea roastery. Or you can order online for fast home delivery across Canada.
