Compass Chocolates is a true bean-to-bar chocolatier located in St. Albert, Alberta. “Bean-to-bar” means they purchase the cacao beans directly, and manage all aspects of the chocolate they produce, unlike most chocolate producing companies. In addition, Compass is a women-owned and operated business that started in 2020 by Priya Winsor. The company focuses on flavour, quality, diversity, and community. This strong focus on quality shows in all aspects of their amazing confections. First, they start with direct trade cacao grown ethically and sustainably. Next they pick the freshest local ingredients, each chosen to enhance the unique flavours in their chocolate. Presentation is important too – Every chocolate is beautifully hand-crafted and tempts you try a flavour combo you’d never imagined.
