The Belazu Early Harvest Arbequina Olive Oil is made in Catalonia by Eduard, from olives grown on his family farm. Their oil is still made from crushing the olives in huge granite stones, the traditional method that’s now rarely used. While Arbequina oil often uses black olives, Early Harvest pressings use olives that are not quite full ripe. This mix of purple and green olives is part of what makes this oil stand out from the crowd.
A very characterful extra virgin oil, you get notes of grass and pepper, with mild creaminess of almonds and banana. TV’s ‘The Great British Menu’ called it ‘the best olive oil in the world.’ Early Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oil won a Guild of Fine Foods’ Great Taste star in 2012, and another in 2016. Use to finish grilled fish or soups, for roasting vegetables, or to dress a salad. No matter what, this oil will feature beautifully in any dish.
