Rishi Iron Goddess of Mercy Oolong Tea is a stunning tea that we’re very happy to bring back to Cupper’s. It’s hand-crafted in spring and winter by a fourth generation artisan oolong teamaker in Mingjian Village in Taiwan’s central Nantou county. Rishi’s ball-rolled Oolong is made from Wuyi and Qingxin oolong tea cultivars. Once harvested, it’s crafted in the traditional style. This results in medium oxidation and moderate roasting. The carefully managed process creates a smooth palate that exudes aromas of roasted buckwheat or chestnut with subtle notes of dried apricot.

Rishi Iron Goddess of Mercy Oolong Tea is a low-caffeine tea and brews at a low temperature, approximately 90-95C. It can be infused several times from the same leaves with different steep times for each infusion. Rishi recommends using 1 1/2 tbsps. of rolled tea to 12 ounces of water. Let the first infusion steep for 3 minutes. Your 2nd infusion steeps for 20 seconds, the 3rd infusion for 50 seconds, and subsequent infusions for about 2 minutes.
